A new bracelet arrives beautiful and full of promise — but before it becomes yours, one quiet step matters: cleansing. Across crystal traditions, cleansing is the act of clearing whatever a stone carried before it reached you, so it can hold only your intention.
Three gentle ways to cleanse
Moonlight (our favorite). Place your bracelet on a windowsill overnight, ideally under a full or new moon. Moonlight is gentle enough for every stone, and the ritual asks nothing but patience.
Selenite rest. Selenite is traditionally believed to cleanse other stones. Lay your bracelet on a selenite slab or in a selenite bowl for a few hours — perfect for stones that should not meet water.
Sound. A singing bowl, a bell, or even a calm chime: let the vibration wash over the beads for a minute or two. Sound reaches every stone without touching it.
What to avoid
Not every stone enjoys water — selenite, malachite and pyrite should stay dry. Harsh sunlight can fade amethyst and rose quartz over time. When in doubt, choose moonlight or sound.
How often?
There is no strict rule. Many wearers cleanse their bracelet once a month with the new moon, or whenever the piece feels heavy — after a difficult week, a long journey, a big change.
After cleansing, hold your bracelet, take one slow breath, and quietly name your intention again. Begin.
Crystal care is part of a mindful ritual — it complements, and never replaces, medical or psychological care.
